You can also make a phone call through your Mac from FaceTime, Contact, Safari, Mail, Map, Spotlight and other apps.
To be able to receive and make a phone call from your Mac, check the requirements below:
- Your iPhone has iOS 8.
- Mac and iPhone are in the same WiFi network.
- Mac and iPhone log in the iCloud with the same Apple ID
- The iPhone Cellular Calls in the iPhone and Mac have been enabled.
How to enable or disable the iPhone Cellular Calls on Mac
- Open FaceTime > Preferences.
- Choose iPhone Cellular Calls.
- To disable the phone call, empty the iPhone Cellular Calls.
How to enable or disable the iPhone Cellular Calls on iPhone
- Go to Settings > FaceTime and then turn on or turn off the iPhone Cellular Calls.
- You still are able to receive or make a phone call on your iPhone even though this feature is off.
How to make a phone call
- From FaceTime: Click Audio to see the calls that have been done before, or enter the phone number in the search box and then click the Audio button.
- From Contact: Choose Contact, choose the person you want to call and click Dial button.
- From Safari: Choose the phone number in the web page, click the pop-up menu, and then choose which iPhone you want to use to make a phone call.
- From Mail: Place the pointer on the phone number on the web, click the pop-up menu and then choose which iPhone you want to use to make a phone call.
- From Map: If you find an interesting place, go to that place, click the Info button, and place the cursor on the phone number, and click the Dial button.
- From Spotlight: Write the name or place on the Spotlight box, and when the result appears, place cursor on the phone number, and then click Dial button.
How to answer a phone call
You can receive or reject the call, send the person text message using iMessage or a reminder to call the person back.
