The new version of BBM for Android is better than before. However, there is one thing that hasn't changed in this new version, ads. For some people, it's annoying to have ads keeps showing on the screen. Furthermore showing ads which keeps changing frequently will cost you more internet data and battery.
There are two ways you can use to remove the ads on BBM for Android. Firstly, you have to pay to remove the ads on your BBM app and secondly, you can remove it manually. To remove the ads on BBM manually, you need to root your Android device in the first place. If you haven't rooted your Android device, you can check our article: How to Root Android Without PC
If you have rooted your Android device, then you're ready to go. Follow the steps below by Tutorial Elex.
1. Stop the BBM process. Go to Settings > Applications > BBM > Force Stop.
2. Install Root Explorer to get into the rooted system. If you don't have one, you can download it from here.
3. Open Root Explorer and tap "Mount R/W" button on the middle top so that you can change the permission.
4. Go to folder data > data > com.bbm > files > bbmcore.
5. Find the following files and folders: adsImages, bbmads.cfg, ads.db, ads.db-journal.
6. For each file, tap and hold it for 2-3 seconds and a pop up menu will appear. Tap "Permissions."
7. Uncheck everything and do the same thing to 3 other files.
8. Restart your Android
Now open your BBM app and you will no longer see ads on it. Enjoy! :)
Note: You need to redo the steps above after you update your BBM app.
