- Backup your data including your texts to your computer or gmail.
- Download ASUS USB Driver and then install it on your computer.
- Download Fastboot.
- Download Pre-Rooted System Image and choose the one that similar to your phone model.
How to Root Asus Zenfone 2 Lollipop
- Extract both the Fastboot and Pre-Rooted System Image and put them on your Desktop once you get the extracted files. It will make you easy to find them later.
- Rename the extracted file from Pre-Rooted System Image into system.img.
- Enable the USB debugging in the Developer Options menu. (If you haven't done this before, you can follow the tutorial here.)
- Connect ASUS ZenFone 5 to your computer.
- Open command prompt on your computer by holding the shift button and right click anywhere on the screen.
- Type the command "adb reboot-boatloader" and press Enter. Your device will reboot and go to the fastboot mode. Or you can press Power Button + Volume Up to go to the fastboot mode from your device.
- Still in the command prompt, type another command "fastboot flash system system.img" wait until the process finished.
- When it's done, restart you device. If there is SuperSU app installed on your phone, it means your phone has successfully been rooted.
How to Unroot ASUS ZenFone 2 Lollipop
If in any case you need to unroot your ASUS ZenFone 2, you can follow the steps below:- First, open the SuperUS app on your ASUS ZenFone 2.
- Go to Settings on the right top.
- Slide down and search for Full unroot in the CLEANUP menu.
- Now you've done unrooting your ASUS ZenFone 2.
